You were still a kid when it started. The problems at home that nobody explained. The arguments you pretended not to hear. The money that was never enough. You didn’t understand all of it, but you felt every bit of it.

And somewhere in the middle of all that, you started dreaming. Big dreams. The kind you didn’t say out loud because they sounded too far from where you were standing. You promised yourself that one day things would be different. That you would make them different.

That promise became a fire. It kept you awake at night. It pushed you when you were tired, when you failed, when nobody believed in you. But it was heavy too. Because now you weren’t only carrying your family’s problems. You were carrying your dreams, their hopes, and the fear of letting everyone down.

Then life kept coming. One challenge after another, never waiting for you to be ready. And you kept going, because stopping never felt like an option.

We didn’t know how much we were carrying. We just picked it up, because we had to. We grew up too early. And we’re still here, still carrying it, still burning.
